Thank you!
Hello friends and supporters,
First, thank you for taking the time to support this initiative to retain Randy Albers as Chair of the Fiction Writing Department, and to help shed light on the drastic affects the prioritization process is having on the entire Columbia College community–students and faculty alike.
If you have not already, please:
1. Let us know your graduation year and degree received so we can add it next to your name (if appropriate).
2. Let us know your position/affiliation (part-time faculty, full-time faculty, student, Freelance Writer for the Chicago Tribune, you get the idea. We want to add some weight behind our signatures. We want to let the administration know that their actions are being noted by the wider community, and remind them that their students may graduate and move on in life, but they don’t forget where they came from, and that the effects of their decisions as a result of prioritization reach far outside the walls of Columbia College).
3. Write a testimonial and send it to us. These testimonials will be added to the site, and also printed and included with our petition when we present it to administration officials. The testimonials allow you to let the administration know exactly how you feel. (And, frankly, they help bolster our resolve when we’re feeling low.) Click “Testimonials” on
http://albersforchair.org to read what others have written already.
4. Spread the word! Let your friends, coworkers, fellow faculty and students–anyone who might care about what is happening in institutions of higher learning all over the United States–know about this effort and ask that they lend their signatures. We have boilerplate email text we can provide to you if necessary.
And finally, please consider attending the Rally for Randy to be held Monday, March 5th in front of 1104 S. Wabash. The Rally begins at 8:30 a.m., prior to the Listening Forum being hosted by Provost Louise Love at 9 a.m. inside on the 8th floor, Film Row Cinema.
Again, thank you for your time and your help in this effort. Every signature counts, every testimonial makes a difference.
Regards,
Viki Gonia
